So Fed Up!

Tuesday, December 27th, 2005

I can’t seem to find a dress yet and the party is only days away! I keep on looking at the wrong dresses! I shopped at Salhiya, AlRaya, Zahra, Fanar, Al-Bustan, & Layla Gallery. Where else should I go??? I can’t continue dragging everyone else with me, esp. when my luck and everything else is going downhill!

Tomorrow I’ll have to check out Al-Othman and Muhallab shopping malls …

Shopping at Zara

Tuesday, December 20th, 2005

Yesterday, me, my little sister, and the baby, on his stroller for the 1st time, went out to Fanar Shopping Mall. All I wanted is a tracksuit from there, and especially after seeing Gabi’s training suit on Desperate Housewives, I thought wow … I want one fast! Actually, I really need one because I do plan to join a gym soon.

Anyways, so we go into Zara Store because they have a good collection there, or at least that’s what I thought, and I was wrong! Nothing matched …
But we did end up buying the same plain navy tracksuits from there; and they’re the same size too! I’m still looking for different styles, maybe I should also check out DKNY’s and Armani’s tracksuits …

So afterwards, we went to Columbus Café to have some snacks and coffee drinks, but I couldn’t sit there, it was so stuffy! And that’s not so good for the baby! So I had to rush my sister out …

Shopping at the City

Wednesday, May 11th, 2005

We found this great basement store that sells (after birth) satin gowns at the City, so as other baby items, and for quite a reasonable price.

I was really focusing on myself yesterday because I’m almost done with baby shopping, and I’ve decided to leave diapers for later, and of course powdered milk for after delivery because I want my Doctor to recommend me the best sort of milk for my baby.

Shopping at the City is nothing like shopping at Salmiya … you can find anything from men drooling over ladies, to cheap priced clothes and accessories. I have to go back today though … to return a dress that doesn’t fit comfortably …

It’s fun though, but anyways I still plan to buy some other fancy satin gowns, maybe from Al-Fanar shopping centre. I think I’m done from shopping, I want to start packing now. The rest of the items I need I can buy from the co-op or online. I won’t consider them as a must; I just need them for the sake of luxury …

Forgot to mention that ‘Sears’ is at Al Dajeej area, Farwaniya.

Shopping at Sears …

Wednesday, April 13th, 2005

Yesterday on our way to landmark to return some items, my husband took the wrong road to get there, and we kinda got to a huge store called ‘Sears’ that sells what looks like real brands for 1/2 its price. We checked out the place and found shoes for 750 fils!!! I bought from there a cute ‘first impression’ cotton baby’s overall that came with matching cotton shoes for 950 fils only. I must say they have an impressive designer’s collection of clothes … ranging from DKNY, Liz Claiborne, Calvin Kline, Ralph Lauren, Jessica, etc. and all sorts of home accessories, tools, equipments, bedding, etc. I liked so many dresses; but sadly, they didn’t have a maternity section … oh well!

Today ‘Mowla,’ the family driver, took me to work because my mom had to take my car, she had a doctor’s appointment and her car was at the garage. So much for waking up early … I didn’t want to be late for work, but ‘Mowla’ was driving as slow as a turtle. I couldn’t tell him to speed up because he drives my 17 year old sister to univ., and it won’t be such a good idea to teach him such a habit. I felt so tense and I have never felt that way ever since the day I got my final exam results, and till I got to work … punched in just in the nick of time … that I felt more relaxed! It’s probably the effect of Hardee’s spicy chicken sandwich I had lastnight …

Yesterday at Home Center

I really thought the bed lamps at Home Center were really pretty. I wonder how it would feel to own one?

Gave up hope …

Thanks Gigi … that was so nice of you.

Yesterday, in our frantic search to find an office desk or dining table, since me and my husband are moving into a new place, we didn’t leave a place we didn’t go to, and my feet felt so numb, swollen and sore, but most of all, my back was throbbing with pain because I never got the chance to buy proper shoes and mine were just so uncomfortable.

Anyways, we end up buying a Mahogany coloured audio tower from Midas, which I almost called a ‘twin tower’ in front of the sales lady, and a Mahogany coloured T.V. stand for the bedroom, that both we didn’t initially intend to buy that day. Funny how I didn’t realize immediately that we were left with the problem of matching the audio tower with a desk or dining table!! Offfeeeeeee, there were thousands of shades & I couldn’t seem to make a difference at all … I’m definitely coloured blind.

At least we were much more successful 2 days ago in choosing plain coloured bed covers and sheets because they came in a complete set, which we bought from True Value.
