My Idol

Monday, April 24th, 2006

Today is my eldest sister’s birthday and I’m not sure yet whether or not my brother planned anything. For now I need to buy a gift and I’ve run out of ideas.

Many More to Come!

Wednesday, January 25th, 2006

Today we had a surprise party for both my sister-in-law (who turned 23 yesterday), and my nephew (who turned 8 today). I really wish both of them a happy happy b-day!

So far we’ve celebrated two more birthdays this week, and meemo’s b-day; that’s three, not to mention another one I couldn’t go to and one next week.

As it seems this month, we had 5 birthdays; starting with my brother, then my husband, my sister, my sister-in-law, and ending with my nephew.

Ooh well, I wish I was born this month tooo, to get it over with! And, I really hope that we continue sharing these happy moments together …

Meemo turned 18

Sunday, January 22nd, 2006

I wish her a happy happpy happppy b-day! We’re having a small family gathering today to celebrate.

My little sister is my very best friend, though most times we never really get along, particularly when it comes to room sharing and shopping. But I love her like crazy anyways…

And I’ve made a list of 8 reasons why I simply love her:

1. She does the most beautiful French Braids.

2. Her voice is so sweet esp. when she’s singing “Never Too Far” by Mariah Carey.

3. She’s very honest. I don’t remember a day that she had to lie about anything to anyone.

4. She’s so funny, and fun to be with. She made me laugh so hard when she tried to imitate Dr. Phil.

5. I admire how she won 3rd place in badminton without practicing.

6. She’s one of the few people I know who look good in specs.

7. Her room is so neat and that’s why she never lets me in.

8. I can borrow her cool stuff whenever I want.

Who can know her and not adore her?

Update: I was so busy that I almost forgot to post about my baby’s first syllables. This time I knew it was coming so I didn’t scream as much as when he rolled over. He started to babble sounds like ‘baba’ or ‘mama,’ when showing dislike or anger.

Candies

Thursday, January 5th, 2006

I’d like to wish my husband a happy b-day, he turned 28 today. I got him a perfume he’d wanted for so long, called Candies, and according to him it’s not sold here in Kuwait because he looked everywhere. So when my brother was in the states I told him to buy it for him, and luckily he found it!

I surprised my husband after we had lunch with Opera’s trifle dessert in mini glass cups; which spelled I love you.

Anyways, we decided we should go out with my sister-in-law and her daughter to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at Muhallab. It wasn’t bad at all, but I don’t understand why it was censored?? I was able to predict the ending this time, it was so obvious …

I found a cool booth next to the cinema, called London Chocolates, which sells sweets imported from the UK. I bought myself some Starbursts original flavour for 500fils. I wish they had it when I was craving for it during my pregnancy!

Afterwards, we went to Biella, an Italian cafe or restaurant at the Marina mall and it wasn’t that great. I ordered salmon for my main course, no appetizers, and I had passione, a cold drink, which wasn’t that good either.

My Brother Turned 26yrs

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006

I’d like to wish my older brother a happy happy b-day! Yesterday I couldn’t think of any better gifts for him, esp. with the party coming up; which is today, other than a perfume set from Amal Al-Kuwait.

I bought him a very traditional sort of fragrance called Oud Oil and incenses, or type of myrrh, called Bakhour. I bet anyone who has been to Kuwait or any other Arab country would surely know what they are.

Both are usually sold in one single tolah (around say 15-20 ounces). For example, one single tolah of Oud Oil or Bakhour could cost less or more than 30 kd, and this depends on the quality!

But generally, the price range is usually between 5kd-10kd as the cheapest and 50-120kd or more for the more fancy kind.

And even if you were inexperienced in this crazy business it won’t be difficult to distinguish or compare the best sorts of fragrances because they’d usually have strong distinct aromas. I know some people who’d get obsessed with buying quality oils and incenses, but for me, it’s a sort of thing I’d like to use strictly for special occasions.

B-day Party at McDonald’s

Sunday, December 4th, 2005

I did end up going to another birthday party; my cousin’s daughter, she just turned one, and I did take my baby too. I got there late as usual … I got confused this time, I thought I read in the invitation card that it’s the McDonald’s at South Surra, and it turned out to be McDonald’s at Mishref’s Fair Grounds! What a mix up! I was so embarrassed!

Babies Night

Thursday, November 24th, 2005

Today, me and my son went to my cousin’s place (very close to where we live), to celebrate her son’s 1st b-day, and we enjoyed it. It’s been a while since we last went out.
