Looking for a school
Registration has started almost everywhere for the next term. I haven’t made up my mind yet on where to enroll my son. He turns 4yrs in August.
My options are:
AIS: School building is very old and it needs major renovation. I took a tour around the KG department. I noticed their KG teachers were not Americans but everyone was super friendly. I loved the fact that the school offers IBO which is a great move.
Registration fee is 30 KD. School fees: KG 1 1936 KD.
Tel: 22255155
ASK: School provides amazing facilities, it’s so huuuuge. I loved it in so many ways. The lady who showed us around knew what she was doing. Problem is their fees are ridiculous. I would so love my kid to go there.
School fees: KG 1 2410 and KG 2 2545 KD.
Tel: 22664341
BSK: They didn’t let us look around, and we’ll have to wait until March to apply his papers. We need an appointment as well to look around.
School fees: 2215 KD.
Tel: 25621701/25622701
KES: I was told over the phone that I would be able to look around without a prior appointment turns out we’re not allowed! I didn’t like their admin. lady, she’s not a friendly type of person. Plus I was told my son would be on the waiting list. I can still hand in his application form and no registration fees so I think I’ll give it a try.
School fees: 1315 KD.
Tel: 25655216/25655208/25622392
It’s such a hard decision for us. I know my way around a British system and that’s why I wanted to consider British schools at first but I’m kinda liking American schools now. What worries me is they’re going to be different to what I’m used to and I’ll be doing the teaching in the end. I really hope I don’t teach, I suck at teaching!

..why the fees are high? I cannot find a satisfactory explanation to justify this except wanna get rich faster, and they know that parents are willing to pay whatever it is!!. Have a good day from raining NYC (last day).

we went with an american system for dhari for so many reasons..( as u know i am a british system graduate lol )
and we finally chose AIS for so many reasons as well lol
however we did not check the fees when we were studying our options and i am shocked that ASK is more expensive than AIS i dont remember how much we paid but im pretty sure its more than 2000 for kg1
bsk didnt let u go around?!?!?!!?!??! u r kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m exactly the same looking for schools lol
I went to BBS, the building is really old and scary, they dont allow looking around untill after ur accepted, and the area they are in is very busy and crowded and extreme traffic..
ABS i didnt go since they accept age 3 from september for Pre-KG, my son will turn 3 in December..
BSK, they have a huge KG school behind them called TSK did you go there? My son loved it he wouldnt leave he was kicking and screaming when we had to leave.. this is one of my final choices, didnt decide yet
AIS, i love, i went and saw it even though the building is old and all that, but from the children i met that went there, they are more advanced than other kids the same age, also i saw that when a kid cries, the teacher carries him and calm him down outside so it doesnt affect other kids. This is my other choice too.
We took all the applications, AIS wants the ( si7a al madraseya ) stuff with the application when u want to register, so we took him there did the si7a el madraseya stuff, and im applying sunday enshallah.. I saw that theres a comment from another parent whose kids are at ais? please email me what they say, i hope i make the right choice..
Hope i helped

Avoid the British system, their facility is old and dilapidated! Check out Bayan, I keep hearing good things. ASK is very nice, that is true. Good luck.

Hello,
As a former BBS student, I wanted to clarify something that was mentioned earlier.
The building is beautiful as it has been completely renovated. I hardly recognized the school had there not been a huge sign.

Many schools claim to be British; many claim to have qualified staff. Few come up to the mark.
This might.

Life is the best school! BBC, AIS, SNES, NASA, Atari, Nintendo…etc
Whatever! What is wrong with government schools? If your kids are not independent in their schooling, then it wouldn’t matter if you take them to the moon 6 times or 20 times

Hello to all hard working, super mummies out there, any idea where I can find a good nursery for my 3 yrs old son with delayed hearing and speech ???? He is a 100% normal child so I’m not looking for a special need sort of nursery. We’re having speech therapy 3 times a week and most probably Aziz will be having an ear procedure done this month to get rid of the extra fluids behind his ear drums….
He is at the BSK now, however they refused to sign him up for next year!! Giving me ridiculous explanation. Earlier this year they have done an assessment for him and made it look like he’s retarded or something!!!
I guess most of the private schools in Kuwait are after easy- fast- cash that can be done without effort or a challenge. May any one tell me where kids like my son should go? Keeping him at home wouldn’t make any good to him !
PLEASE HELP !

Definately AIS. ASK is too americanized while AIS has the perfect mix of arabs and foreigners.
