Thursday, November 27th, 2008

My friend calls me around 7am telling me that co-worker no. 5 is going to the lab to have a blood test done, she thinks she’s pregnant too, actually I think she’s pregnant!!! When I just told myself I don’t want to think too much about it anymore lol … well I don’t think I can! I don’t want to believe it’s happening oo bas, is it April Fool’s yet! I really thought being pregnant is cute …

This is pregnancy number five!

meningitis vaccinations

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

If you have one or two family members going to hajj this year (I have four: dad, two brothers and my older sister) then you’ve got to take your kids, age 4 yrs or under for this vaccine. Good luck!

update: I called up mustawsif mishref I was told that my son doesn’t need to get any vaccinations, weird because my friend heard it on the fm.

four pregnancies now

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Another girl is pregnant now that makes them 4 pregnancies in one department (nesait agool mashallah!) I know I sound mean. Problem is our summer vacation. We’re 7 girls, including myself. Dodo gives birth in March and is taking 40 day maternity leave. Second co-worker gives birth in April. Third, gives birth in May. Fourth, gives birth in August.

Now you do the calculations, the rest will take around 2-4 months maternity leaves. So number two will come back in August. Number three will come back in Sept. Number four might take up to 6 months leave, maybe less. As for myself, I haven’t taken a real vacation for the past two years and we’re planning on taking one the coming summer if all goes well, dodo too. She wants to cut her maternity leave to 40 day so she can visit her family in the summer and she hasn’t seen them for two years.

Who’s left. Me, dodo, co-worker no. 5 and 6. I feel it’s just so selfish of them to not think of others oo bas! I don’t understand girls, one girl is pregnant and they all want to be pregnant!! I don’t care about everyone I’m so taking a summer leave … oo bas! I’m not taking no for an answer even if it means I hand in my resignation!

long weekend ahead of me

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

I’m looking forward to the weekend. I have a milcha to attend tonight. I’m happy and I want all single girls to get married inshallah! I’m wearing an old dress, it’s not that old I just wore it once before so it’s okay, no one will notice lol. I’ll leave everyone with this song …

Sleep deprived

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

I’m officially diagnosed with CTS – carpal tunnel syndrome, it’s a result of some pressure on the nerves ending in my arms. Today I had a test (called EMG which stands for electromyography) done to my right hand, that’s where I’m feeling pins and needles, tingles and numbness.

They had some electrodes placed on my arms and gave me electric pulses with a metal fork. I won’t say it’s a painless procedure but it’s not that painful either. My body jerked involuntarily with every pulse. I kept laughing. I’m sure I looked funny. I swear my hand has never felt any better. My left hand is kinda okay. I’ll have to sleep on it to make sure. I’ll have to check on my legs as well, they feel weird sometimes, maybe I’ll do another EMG for them if they continue to feel like this.

Anyhow, the very first time I showed symptoms of CTS was while I was pregnant with my son. I never had tests done back then, I was too afraid, but I was sure I had CTS. Plus when I delivered it was fine. So I didn’t pay too much attention to it, not that there’s much I can do about it.

Three years later, and it’s back but not as severe as I remember. It was much worse before to the point I couldn’t use both my hands and it hurt so much. For the past couple of months, I haven’t been able to sleep on my sides anymore, I’ve had to switch to my back with my arms on my sides. I can’t stay sleeping on my back for too long. I switch to my sides again, and it wakes me up again. That’s what made me schedule an appointment with the doctor, I’m so sleep deprived. I was told I have to wear a wrist splint almost all day long, it helps a little, even when I’m asleep, and I have to avoid carrying heavy things, which is impossible to do. I’m going to try my best anyways. I’m wearing my wrist splint as I’m typing this, I’m not loving it …

Thanks NBK

I called NBK so that they can send my new e-pin to a closer branch to home. She asked for the last digits of my atm card, I gave it to her, then she stated that she won’t be able to send it to a closer branch because I haven’t picked up my new atm card from my far away branch! What new atm card! She said it’s all over the news, and starting from last month all NBK atm cards are replaced with newer ones. She said: “you’ll have to pass by your branch anyways, it’s pointless sending it to another closer branch.” Plus, why can’t they send my new atm card to a closer branch too?

Cool! Now I HAVE TO GO to my far away branch … how come no one told me anything last week when I called their hotline?

update: another thing, I was told to pick my new atm card as soon as possible because the old one will be canceled after sometime.
