starting all over

He asked about his masasa today. I told him, “masasas are for little babies and you’re a big boy now.”

Last Friday he was exposed to chicken pox again. My sister in law had the swimming pool out. So in the morning I bought him two new swim outfits with their very matching hats from Mothercare only to know my son had swimming pool phobia, which is ironic because he doesn’t have bathtub phobia. I guess it’s been sometime since he last took a dip in the water. Just like how haircut phobia is back again. I was a little disappointed so instead I put him in sand play area. He had so fun in the mud and that made my day.

  2. ananyah Says:

weird how he doesnt like swimming pools but likes baths… maybe because its deeper and wider?

i hope you finally get him off the masasa, but shouldn’t he learn to sleep in his own bed as well? He’s 2 now mashalla but the bigger he grows the more he’ll annoy you and rami :)

  3. Enigma Says:

3adi let him play in the sand at one point he’s gonna get so hot and jump in the pool

I hope he forgets all about masasa soon

Inshallah he will forget about the pacifier soon..

As for the water, my son LOVES the water he just goes in there without thinking.. but I had him going in the water since he was like 1 year.. he goes to the swimming pool with his dad and last summer we took him in the ocean!

Inshallah soon he will learn to love the water.. it’s good for the kids, they come home and sleep really well!

why don’t you want him exposed to chicken pox? it’s better that he gets it at a young age than older

Will, we were lucky with Masooka, cuz she never liked the massasa, and it seems that we are gonna have the same with Sallomi…..but you gotta admit it, sometimes you wish that they like it, specially in the night :(

Massooka had a little problem with swimming pools too, but it just vanished once we put her thier a couple of times, even if she didnt want too..

Wish a good luck, o ma yshoof shar el9`3ayyir..inshallah he will be a7san soon :)

marzouq, I wish he would and inshallah he will once he gets over this phobia

marker, I want him to get chicken pox if I didn’t I wouldn’t have taken him to see his cousins for the 2nd time

ananyah, he’s off the pacifier now, though when he’s sleepy he remembers it. He’s asking about his mamiya too! (he weaned himself off the bottle ages ago, I think before he turned 2 yrs)

I’m going to work on moving him out of our bed soon, I’m not sure about toilet training though, I don’t feel he’s ready yet

Enigma, I left him playing in the sand area and he didn’t want anything to do with that pool

Big pearls, at least he sleeps without it now and I’m trying my best to avoid taking him any place that might trigger his memory

Shosho, I’ve always let my son play in the pool or sea way before he turned one, weird thing!

km, at first I felt so guilty about it, later I found so much relief because he slept fast which means I can relax more. I had enough with crying, couldn’t take it anymore and I found no other way of calming him down other than giving him a pacifier. He used to cry so much that his belly button popped out. Even if I’d fed him, changed him and put him to bed, he would still cry. I tried everything in the book. Gave him gas medicine, nothing worked magic like his masasa. it brought us some peace. ilhamdillah

my niece doesnt use the masasa bas we just cant get her to let go of her thumb before and right after sleeping, and if you even touch her while shes sucking her thumb..she’ll give you the ‘death look’..its easier before sleeping then after she wakes up especially after naps shed be grumpy and wouldnt want to let go..for us the kids were more scared of the sand then the water.escpecially first time on sand they would get scared, and they couldn’t balance and they also didnt like their foot sinking in the sand..inshalla he’ll get over it..for chicken pox..i have to admit..ive never had it..and im scared whats gunna happen if i do get it..;p
