I get an awful lot of friends at work giving me remarks like ‘shino mama golee yomma.’ When my mom calls I always answer with ‘hala mama.’ I never saw anything wrong with that before?

it depends on the mood im in.. if im bored and feel like having some fun with mama i call her mom and mother if i am sucking up or begging for things i call her mammii and if im screaming from upstairs to tell her to pick up the phone or ‘yalllla!!!’ its yommmma!!!! and if its normally its mama! yomma is a very rough and unfeelingfull word!

yuma has such a personality.. i think its a lovely word .. i love using yumma when we are around our non kuwaiti friends.. it shows our kuwaiti identity .. but in reality we use all sort of words to call my mom depending on the situation mama mom yumma mamy.. my son calls me mama/yumma/mommy/7abibti.

organic, you’re so right about that. I should start using yuma for a change and esp. infront of non-kuwaiti friends.
