Boycott KDD!
Why boycott Danish products when we should really be boycotting KDD products, not only for raising their prices but for selling a pack of 40 mini juices (125ml) for the insane price of KD 3.400, while a pack of 24 regular juices (250ml) is sold for the price of KD 3.600. Silly silly silly!!!
I know co-ops have started boycotting them but I’m so disappointed with other places such as Sultan Centre because they continue to encourage such brands by buying their products. It shows they approve of their prices and consumers are the last thing on their minds …

and it’s local plus they’re advantage of kids!!!
January 28th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
Hmmm..
40 x 125ml =5000 ml
24 x 250ml =6000 ml
the price difference is 200 less for the 40 mini juices ..
you should consider the packing of these juices:
more plastic for straws
more cartoon for the pack it self
more ink ?
more plastic for the packing cases..
silly silly silly… !! ;p

those who are willing to buy shall buy. If someone is not happy with paying such a price they shouldn’t.

You have to accept that the market costs have risen enormously in the past few years, and thank god the Kuwaiti companies have been holding back on the prices increases. Yet these are companies that are also trying to pay their staff and make some profit. You can’t hold that against them.
The real blame belongs to the government for not supporting Kuwaiti companies by offering them land, facilities and subsidies. All the companies in Subhan (Pepsi, KDD etc) have to pay for tankers to come and pick up their sewage? Also every time these companies request for some more land so they can expand they are denied, then this land is given free to other parties which turn around and sell it for profit.
So how do you expect Kuwaiti companies to compete with Saudi and Gulf companies which are fully supported by their local governments?

I’m kind of stuck because my children only drink KDD juice and milk, they don’t like anything else. I don’t think Carrefour has ever had KDD products in their store. I don’t really understand why the prices have gone up?
January 28th, 2008 at 6:25 pm
What do you think about Starbucks then?
January 28th, 2008 at 6:28 pm
I never even really liked the taste of KDD products. Only their ice-cream is nice.

I’m a KDD addict for as long as i can remember.
I absolutely can’t have my breakfast without KDD chocolate milk.
They’re the best, delicious, and their juices don’t contain Citric Acid!
I agree with Shopa: Those who are willing shall buy, others who aren’t should buy something else.
And Nibaq’s –> sa7 elsaanik!

I am with a price increase if it is justified. But when imported products sell cheaper, then we know we have a problem!

KDD should start using cheaper packaging if that’s the matter. I don’t really mind the prices as long as they make sense!
Stinni, my kid likes kdd only but I’m still going to look for another brand that’s not a rip off.
Enigma, exactly. Other brands like ABC have kept their prices the same.

I used to pay a little under 1kd for a 250ml of KDD chocolate milk in USA .. it was like crack.
January 29th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
K, if it’s 100% juice then I don’t mind paying a little more but most of their juice contain only 30% juice the rest is water! I think their apple, pineapple and orange juices are 100% juice, no water added (check their website).

I am not a fan of pasteurized juice (boiled juice + water) .. the juicemaker is my friend.
January 30th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
I switched milk and yogurt from KDD to Marai which is much better!

marzouq, aslan co-ops are replacing kdd products with saudi products, like we have different options.

Another subject, when did your son start nursery? is a 2 year old ready for a nursery? i have a one year old girl
January 31st, 2008 at 6:09 pm
jojo, he started going 4 months ago. He’s now 2 and 5 months old. I know he’s young for nursery but I couldn’t leave him at home either because I work. My mom looked after him most of the time I was away.
btw, most nurseries I’ve checked accept younger kids if you plan on taking your daughter, good luck.
