Hi,

Reading all the above is enough to put you off sending your child to a Nursery in Kuwait!!, luckily enough I found Happy Chappies Montessori Nursery in Fintas, it is covered by the Ministry of Education and Social affaires who happened to mention it was one of the best they have seen in 30 years, the owner doesnt advertize that little fact but I found out from the lady who built their website. Many schools have copied them and the owner encourages other schools to come see them and learn what they do because she feels that every child is entitled to a great education.
I like this fact, my child has learnt so much and its so good to see a school that opens their doors with the interest of children truly at the heart of their operation.
Have a look at their website, www.happy-chappies.com.
They have little ones from ages 11 months till 4 and a half. The Principal Nikki is fantastic, highly qualified herself, and the owner Alison is a truly wonderful lady, she mixes with parents and children and you would never know she was the owner, she treats each and everybody the same and you can see why everybody loves the school and the teachers. Everybody follows the same code and i wish i could work there!!, at least my 2 year old daughter is benefiting. I cant recommend this Nursery enough.

Hey guys!

I just wanna say...I had very bad experiences at The English Playgroup, I wont say what, but let's just say don't judge a book by its cover...it looks great but on the inside...TERRIBLE!

My son just turned 3, I enrolled him at The Sunshine Kindergarten, which is the Preschool and KG Department of The British School of Kuwait. They have Creche, which is a Nursery, I'm not sure what ages they take but I'm pretty sure they take them at infant stage onwards, then they have Pre-KG which is from 2 and a half up to 4 I think and then it's KG.

What I love about the Sunshine Kindergarten is that it's a part of an actual School, not just a Nursery- nurseries in Kuwait don't fall under The Ministry of Education so everything is sort of unofficial. Another thing is that the buidling is brand new, they just finished building it last summer (June 2008) and the facilities are amazing. They keep you up to date with the children's activities on a daily basis, and my son is absolutely loving it. The staff are very professional and all qualified, and the even have after-school activities so for the moms who need more time to make it from work, you can enroll ur child in an after school club til u get there!

Although my daughter goes to Kuwait English School, and is in Reception now, I decided to put my son at the pre-KG program at The SUnshine Kindergarten since KES doesn't have a Pre-KG program. It worked out superb!

The school hours are from 7:30-12:30.

The school is located in Salwa, Area 1 st 1.

''We follow the standards as written in the Foundation Stage of the British Curriculum… not Key Stage 1. just thought u should know since ure all au fait about it.''

Well Shaima if you had said that earlier it could have saved us all a lot of bother, couldn't it? Or have you just discovered the Foundation Stage?

Talk to me about EYFS or FSP PSA1 Targets- then I'll believe you know what you are talking about.

re ''British staff '' ( Natalie, Shaima ), actually Shaima YOU were the one who said that and I just queried it. Why claim all british in one post and then later say , no, mixed. When did ALL become SOME ?

Natalie - re UNITS ( ''I have yet to locate where in the Foundation Stage these ‘units’, ‘textbooks’ come into play…maybe you would like to send me through the link''

With pleasure

So, for clarity....not to dispute.
the british playhouse follow a foundation stage british curriculum but no british staff?
sorry im not a teacher exactly what does the foundation stage cover?
natalie, i have heard good reports on cascade, do you have a number for them? where is their locality? do they offer meals? It would be convenient for me if there was somewhere that offered this facility
