Mixed up feelings

Saturday, July 28th, 2007

Of course things just never turn out the way I want them to *sigh* and when they don’t it just drives me nuts! I hope it’s all for my best interest … looking on the bright side starting from Saturday next week I’m officially on a vacation from work … and life for about a month, though not really if you count taking care of the house chores and meeting Hasson’s needs, and that alone is a full time job on its own lol. But I’m going to try to relax in my vacation and probably I’ll join a gym because everyone’s talking about how big my tummy has become.

Stuff that I wasn’t able to do over the weekend:

Watch 24.

Watch My Name is Earl.

Go out shopping.

Visit my father-in-law.

Stuff I managed to do over the weekend:

Drop off the duvet to the dry-cleaners, I did it at last yip yip horaaaay!

Ordered out, I wasn’t able to cook a thing due to my cold that Hasson passed on to me.

We all had our good share of sleep.

Cluster of clothes

Never pile clothes. Fold them away where they belong.

Drop off the damn covers

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

I need to go to the laundry to drop off my covers but I don’t feel like going, I have never been pleased with any of the laundries I go to, any suggestions? I don’t feel like doing anything except feeding hasson lunch, which I’m going to do after I click the publish button below.

May not be easy

For the 2nd time in two days I had to take my housemaid to see a physician to check on her throat as she was told she had tonsillitis and so I took the day off for her. She was responding very well to amoxicillin so there was nothing to worry about until on my way back home she told me she wanted to stay for the year only. I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t know whether to get mad or stay calm.

For the first time in 6 months I felt I wanted to slap her. I haven’t refused anything she wanted. I gave her a mobile phone, let her call her relatives 2-3 times per month on our expense, and bought her everything she needed from food down to clothes and accessories. I even let her choose the stuff she wanted from the co-op and several times she’d ask me to buy stuff for other housemaids too, I didn’t mind as long as she was doing her job. Even if she had a little cold I’d quickly rush her to see a physician, what more? I treated her like my own sister.

What are my options now:

1. Take her back to the agency and get my money back.
2. Enroll Hasson to a nursery and stay maid-less until I can’t take it anymore.
3. Let her stay for the year but she’ll have to pay her ticket.

Rami strongly feels we should go with option one.

Update: I talked to Teresa and she explained to me that she thought I didn’t want her looking after hasson if she’s ill all the time, true she’s been ill maybe 3 times in 6 months but I never complained to her about it. I always told her to rest, eat well and rushed her to the clinic if nothing worked. It didn’t bother me much, on the contrary, but whether this was a misunderstanding from my side or simply Wanita (’AKA’) had slapped some sense into her about how bad things can get if I took her back to the office? I’m still glad she’s staying because that means I don’t need to think about nursery until after his 2yr vaccine.

Itchy twitchy

Thursday, July 19th, 2007

I woke up a while ago when Hasoni punched me in the back, rolled over the other side of the bed and turned the side lamps on. What a great way to wake up! I didn’t want to get up but then something else did. I felt my elbows were itching as hell, following that my knees, hands, face, scalp and you name it. I then found a rash on my elbows, knees and legs. Yesterday I couldn’t sleep because I had a weird cough, itchy mouth and my right ear was itchy too. Now I can’t stand it. I took zyrtec, but what triggered this? Last meal I had was at 4:30pm from Kabab-ji, my favourite kabab place. I’m not sure I used any new products of any sort, other than baby johnson and no way it would do this.

Sometimes when I’m supposed to be quiet
And I’m trying to be perfectly still
The strangest feeling comes over me
It’s kind of itchy, kind of twitchy.

There’s an itch on my head
An itch on my nose
An itch on my elbow
An itch on my toes
An itch on my lip
An itch on my hip
Until the teacher says, “Stop!”

Sometimes when I’m supposed to be quiet
And I’m trying to be perfectly still
The strangest feeling comes over me
It’s kind of itchy, kind of twitchy.

There’s an itch on my tongue
An itch on my chin
An itch on my tummy
Near my belly button
An itch on my hair
An itch in the air
Until the teacher says, “Stop!”

Sometimes when I’m supposed to be quiet
And I’m trying to be perfectly still
The strangest feeling comes over me
It’s kind of itchy, kind of twitchy.

There’s an itch on my neck
An itch on my shin
An itch on my foot
That’s tickling
An itch on my ear
An itch on my knee
Until the teacher says, “Stop!”

Sometimes when I’m supposed to be quiet
And I’m trying to be perfectly still
The strangest feeling comes over me.
