a friend directed me to your blog ( for a reason you will know later), I clearly see you have an adorable personality .
I couldn’t help to send u a comment on the dangers of sugars, its very very disturbing to see children in kuwait addicted to sugar like this, i find it sad that your child knows the difference between chocolate and candy at this young age.. i mean, from what i can read you are very educated and smart, i dont know why you dont take the extra mile to protect your child from these harmful foods, I understand its hard when your child is a teenager i am a mother of 3 and i recently joined a support group to help me deal with the pressures of society who tries to feed my children these junks, although they are not interested in tasting chocolate but my in laws keep offering which is hard. My 11 years old just tried chocolate few days at his friends house (cookies) I thank God he came home to me told me Mom I tried cookies today and I didn’t like them, my 6 and my 3 are not interested and they enjoy a very healthy diet and life style they never experienced allergies or fevers or flus or constipation like other children who are fed sugars and processed foods and other junk, hope you google dangers of sugar, you are too smart not to.

Kuda, I know that it’s not healthy to give my baby sweets and chocolates. I’m quite aware of that and I’m still trying my best to avoid them in his diet, as much as I can but when he turned one … things changed.

You might be very lucky, mashallah, that your kids are not interested in chocolates but not everyone is that fortunate. Besides kids are so different, it’s not even fair to compare one kid to another.

My kid was so curious from the start to try out cake and ice-cream then his little cousins gave him chocolates and later on candies. That’s when I just gave in a little bit. I did not approve of it but I couldn’t do much about it either. I thought I better have him eat candies around me than behind my back, wouldn’t you do the same? At least I can limit his intake in this way.

At some point I won’t be able to protect my child from everything in life. I can’t always be there for him if he falls to hold him just in time, and pointing the finger at him and feeling cross is not going to help either. I don’t want to be overprotective. It’s only going to add more stress on me and I’ll only end up feeling bad about everything. It’s not worth all that.

    Thanks for the advice.
