Happy anniversary to us
I haven’t been posting about what I’ve been up to lately, I just don’t feel like posting, now I do. Two days ago I traveled to Dubai on Jazeera Airways to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. It was Rami’s surprise gift and what a surprise it was. I must say that this time round, the flight was a little more organized than last time. The lemon chicken was not as good as last time, could be because I had a cold, or probably it was an allergy whichever it was, nothing helped relieve my aches.
First thing we did was grab a taxi and go to Burj Al-Arab, let me say it wasn’t that impressive from the inside. We toured around. The rooms were wow. They’ve experimented with different colours and I thought it was very stylish. By the time we were done, it was 12:30 and our reservation for Mahara seafood restaurant was at 1pm, so we took the lift down to the restaurant, just in time for the submarine ride. It was a joke and I thought it would be a real ride in the waters!
I’d like to point out how ridiculously expensive the menu was. Of course there was nothing on the menu I liked or Rami. There was nothing tempting but we placed our own orders anyways. I was so hungry and I was glad they got us the bread basket but they had a weird selection of buns with caviar and butter dip? It was so fishy and tasteless. My salad was good but Rami’s salad had a curly hair stuck on the plate, and he didn’t finish it up, he was just so disgusted. The manager was in a state of shock when the waiter told him about it, in fact he was in a state of denial too and he was inspecting the plate, and so in disbelief. They all said they were sorry but that was not enough for me because I couldn’t finish up my main course, I couldn’t get rid of the image of the long curly hair. They even gave us some complementary sweets at the end but still that didn’t work for me. It was a mistake but a sweet experience!
The rest of the day we shopped in the Mall of the Emirates and what a good way to end it. I got myself two shoes from prettyfit. Rami got himself two formal suits, three shirts and a video cam. I had sore feet by the end of the day and we had to catch a plane back home before midnight, it was so painful to walk but I walked. It was fun just getting to spend the whole day all alone with my husband. I think that was the best thing about all this. On the plane I tried to take a nap but there were two girls laughing and giggling in the back and they didn’t stop till we landed. It was so annoying ..
P.s. at some point the manager looked at Rami’s hair and implied it could have been his hair, even though my husband’s hair is cut short and straight?

1. The submarine is not real at all, more like a simulation ride.
2. I never stayed at Burj Al-Arab so I’m not sure how much it costs. Check out their site. I won’t deny how fancy the rooms were though it’s not worth the money, way too expensive.
I had lunch at Al-Mahara their seafood restaurant and I didn’t like it. Put in mind you have to wear formal, but ladies are free to wear what they like, even jeans.
3. Food was ridiculously expensive, I don’t remember how much we paid.
I won’t recommend you stay there, in fact you should stay at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, I believe it’s more reasonable and has cool swimming pools.
