Cheshme Man
A girl working at a salon sent me a ring tone of some beautiful persian music which I’ve had as my ringtone ever since. I didn’t know the artist’s name until yesterday. I was at the optics buying myself a new pair of contacts and as I was ready to pay my phone started ringing, that’s when the Iranian guy on the cashier pointed out the music on my phone. He told me, ‘do you know who sings that song?’ I answered, “no, but tell me who?” He said his name was Dariush and the title of the song that took my heart is ‘cheshme man’ meaning my ex (actually it means “my eyes” and thanks to MagicalDroplets for correcting me). I just listened to the song I couldn’t understand a word but I’m sure the words are as beautiful. I wish I could find a translation of the lyrics ..

Actually the title means, “my eyes” not “my ex”. Though my translation sucks, I would give a shot over the weekend. In the meantime you can find the transliteration here: http://www.persianhub.com/thread.php?threadid=17314

Hi
some background first:
The lyrics were written by a young lyricist (Ardalan Sarafraz) after his father died. The words are simply beautiful and touching. Here is my attempt at the translation, but I know I am not doing it justice.
Dariush -=- Cheshme Man
=======================
My eye, come to my aid
My cheeks have dried, do something
Can anything be done other than crying?
KaI cannot do anything, cry
He who has left, will never return
till eternity, my heart desires tears
***
All the sea that god has on this earth
with all the clouds in the sky
I wish he would give them all to my eyes
so that my eyes could cry for me
He who has left, will never return
till eternity, my heart desires tears
my good psat histories
ended too early like a dream
now I have to put my head on my knees
until eternity envy tears
no one’s heart has sadness like mine
no one has darkness like mine
now that crying is my cure
why do my eyes not have tears?
***
they stole our bright sun
took it under the heavy clouds
everywhere is black
out time here is too short
He who has left, will never return
till eternity, my heart desires tears
Destiny of his eyes are blindess
scars will remain in the chest
lips are closed, chest is full of blood
this is the story of humans
He who has left, will never return
till eternity, my heart desires tears
I apologize for my poor translation, it simply lost its beauty in the translation.
below is the persian version for those who speak persian
