Jazeera Airways Sucks
My experience with Jazeera Airways wasn’t a good one at all. To begin with things were going really smooth at the check in counter until we got to the boarding gate. It was overcrowded because they had two flights (Beirut and Dubai) going in one boarding gate. That was the strangest thing ever. I couldn’t believe how messed up the queue was. They didn’t let parents with infants or children go in first instead everyone just pushed they’re way in. They had no respect at all for that.
It didn’t stop at that, then there were some stairs going down. My baby was asleep so I had to take him out of his stroller and hold him while waiting in the long line. Rami had to fold up the heavy stroller with little space to move and a few handbags on his shoulders, he had to carry everything down those stairs, putting in mind that the crowd wouldn’t move forward quickly, but he was lucky enough someone offered to help him out. I ended up being pushed from every side. There wasn’t any space to move and the heat was so unbearable. When it was our turn to get in the bus, it wasn’t easy to carry and load the stroller onto the bus because there were damn steps!!
Getting on the plane wasn’t easy either and the cold wind blowing in my baby’s face made me push my way in. I got so pissed when the flight attendants did nothing to help us out. I looked for Rami and I saw him leave the stroller outside, next to the stairs going up the plane. He caught up with me and told me they didn’t give him a tag for the stroller. What if it got lost?
We got the seats up front and all I could hear was the noisy fans, it hurt my ears and I couldn’t move in the tight seat. It was very uncomfortable. I waited for an extension belt and once the plane was ready for take off, I quickly called for the flight attendant to remind her I needed one. Looks like passenger’s safety wasn’t top on their list?
The curtain separating the business class from the economy class was almost touching my face during the flight, it was so annoying.
The only two things I liked were the gray leather seats and the lemon chicken sandwich, other than that I hated everything else about the flight. Talk about a baby unfriendly flight.

[...] Pearls just posted about her experience with Jazeera Airways. She also had problems boarding the plane although her problems were worst then mine. I don’t think she will be flying Jazeera again. Check out her review on her site. [Link] Filed under: Kuwait, Information Posted by Mark on 01.06.07 | Related Entries [...]

Its a cheap airline, do not expect much. Next time pay more and fly with a normal airlines.

I haven’t flew with them…now after what u experienced i will never think of it even!

Actually purg they werent this bad before. The few times i traveled with them before they had normal boarding gates and you didnt have to take a bus to the plane. now to cut costs they are sharing the gates or using the super mini tiny ones and then taking passengers to their planes by bus.

Mark, most low fare airlines begin having such problems once they expand and more people travel on them, and especially during peak periods.

i say give them another chance, they are way better than and arab airlines but you just experienced them during peak season, and you would have suffered in any airlines equally.

My family traveled several times with them. Thats my wife and 2 kids (BOYS)So you can imagine what boys are like. The crew was very helpful and dealt with the kids in a very professional manner.the flights are always on time and the seats are very confy.

just tell one thing pearls… why did you fly Jazeera?
January 6th, 2007 at 4:51 pm
Maze if you’re traveling on your own it would be ok but don’t go with an infant, baby or toddler.
Purg, to tell you the truth I expected a lot more from what I heard.
Mark, sharing boarding gates is so cheap!

I am one of Jazeeras biggest supporters but the experience i had with them going to Lebanon plus my sisters experience coming back is nothing like my previous flights. My sisters flight back to Kuwait was delayed 4 hours!

Either Jazeera are getting complacent or Kuwait Airways is pumping up its anti-Jazeera Airways rhetoric through the hiring of blog writers and the like.
That, or NAS is jumbling its act

Moutabel, I’m not a hired to do this!
Jas, you probably need to contact their office to know more about their luggage limit but I doubt there’ll be any exceptions.

Dear All,
Jazeera airways like all others having their adventage and disadventage, I’m flying with them and I think most of us doing it ,because of cheap fares which is almost not true.I had experienced a lot with them.
Give me the oppurtunity to recall my memmory and mention all the things had happened with me.
1.- Flight schedule never on time ,always late.
2.- Smoking not allowed ,but it’s happening ,specially on the flight of 15-Jan. 2007.
3.- Crew not helpful, even if you are not able to reach the cabinet for replacing your handbag, they will not move and give you a help.
4.- The plan itself is like a shopping center and crew are more interested by selling their product instead giving way to passengers to ahead to the toilets.
5.-Booking problems and waiting for months to get back your money ,when you are paying the fees to the Master or Visa cards.
6.-Counters are always and almost crowded and worst than that when you are waiting and there is a queue and suddenly the associate shut the counter and tell you ,please procced to other counter, because she had ended her shift ,worst than this when you ask about her supervisor he approach to you and advise you to procced to another counter where it ’s only one counter working for certain destination and its either Christmas and New Year and people need really to reach their home.

Dear pearl,
First of all I would like to inform you that the gates are assigned to the airlines by the Kuwait DGCA. The airport is fully owned by the Kuwait DGCA. I understand that once there was an incident by mistake they assigned same gate for 2 JZR flights. It’s not the airlines mistake…you have to blame the DGCA for that.
Second thing, I have travelled many times with JZR, on Row no. 4 which is just behind the curtain separating J+ and Jazeera pax. I have never seen that the curtain touching anyones face. You are exhagurating things beyond reality.
And regarding the Infant Seat Belt, I strongly disagree with you. The crew is informed well in advance that how many infants are onboard and what’s their seat numbers. Immediately the pax is seated they supply the seat belts. What you mentioned is very difficult to beleive.
Therefore, please it’s very easy to critisise, without knowing the real fact!

I had a very good flight from Dubai to Bahrain on the 30th Jan.2008. The only problem I have is I booked my flight over the internet and did not recieve a reciept, have sent numerous e-mails, no replys, I even skyped a jazeera Airways assistant in kuwait with my complaint was told he would immediately send an e-mail guess what no email!!! Today is the 6th Feb. and still no reciept. If anybody from Jazeera Airlines happens to read this maybe you have a sense of responsibility and somebody from this airline will contact me????

Yeah seriously, if you don’t feel like paying a “neutral” amount of money for a good-reputation airline and prefer price over service then don’t complaint. We are on earth not to heaven to get UNRESONABLE EXPECTATIONS…

I think every airline in the world has mucked it up somewhere with customers….thats because its run by human beings who simply make mistakes sometimes. The question we need to ask is, is this incident the exception or the rule? is this airline and crew mostly good and attentive to customers or mostly useless, im happy with an airline that gets it right most of the time, because you will never get one that is perfect each and every time. Jazeera in my experience does get it right most of the time.
