Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

Thursday, August 10th, 2006

We got here like an hour ago and in two hours we’ll be taking another flight to Scotland. Hassan doesn’t like flying at all so I can’t wait to get there but I’m glad he slept in the plane a couple of hours, waking up every now and then when his ears got blocked, otherwise he was a good boy. Everyone was so friendly, even the guy sitting next to me was helping out.

I’ll have to go for now.

Last minute things

Wednesday, August 9th, 2006

Meemo will be traveling earlier today and I asked her: “what was the most thing you can’t survive without if your luggage got lost.” She quickly replied: “my Armani Jeans!” She took them out of the bag she was planning to check in and put them instead in her rollling gear bag! That was the funniest thing I’ve heard all day long.

Great timing

A water pipe just got exploded at our house. No water until it’s fixed.

Casio Fighting Rabbit

I was cleaning out my closets when I stumbled upon my Casio Fighting Rabbit. This brought back some good old memories. I remember my dad got it for me back when I was a little kid, I was maybe 6 years old or younger. I haven’t been able to throw it away ever since. It’s still in perfect shape too. All I have to do is attack the evil looking crows and save my little bunny from drowning in the river. I love it and I had high scores that no one can beat!

Parking Ticket

Monday, August 7th, 2006

Today I got my first parking ticket, actually it’s my second but I won’t count it. The first time I didn’t know I got a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt until my dad took my car for an inspection. I told my dad that I would never drive without wearing a seatbelt or even let anyone sit in my car without the seatbelts on. I still don’t understand how I was fined for something I didn’t do.

So anyways today was different, I was at the other side of Salmiya and I wanted to check some shops there. I quickly found a parking space. I parked nicely, looked for some coins in my purse and I found 50 fils. I inserted the coin in the parking meter and left. When I got back 20 minutes later I found a traffic ticket on my windshield. My time was up only 5 minutes and I got a ticket? I don’t usually break any rules and what made matters worse is the car I was driving was not registered in my name. So I got more pissed. Aren’t there exceptions of any sort? I have to pay 5kd but that doesn’t bother me as much as the fact that I’m fined for parking in a proper parking space while other people I know always get away with parking in wrong places!

Strange Phobias

Monday, August 7th, 2006

I have an irrational fear when it comes to stepping on lines and gaps. I don’t like stepping on gaps because I might get my heels stuck in them but I don’t understand why I don’t like stepping on the lines separating one tile from another. I try to take bigger steps, longer strides and sometimes I might skip along just to avoid stepping on anything that’s in a line.

Funny thing, I know that I should be looking up as I walk but I tend to look down to the ground, I find my eyes wandering elsewhere rather than ahead of me and so many times I bump into stuff lol.

I think I suffer from some more phobias but I’m not ready to talk about them here lol. I guess it’s normal. My baby got Somniphobia (fear of sleep) and Xyrophobia (fear of razors).

I think he’ll grow out of this very soon, but will I?

Sunday, August 6th, 2006

I had nothing to do and before something comes up, I decided to change the b-day ticker .
