Baby Dance

Saturday, July 22nd, 2006

I can’t resist turning the tv on to any music channel just to see my baby wave his hands up and down to the beat. I’d rather see him tap his feet than wave his arms around like that. But nevertheless I’m enjoying this phase so much because my baby simply listens to what I say or at least most of the time he does.

I tell him ‘bite’ and he bites hard. I tell him ‘kiss me here’ as I point to my left cheek, he’d open his mouth wide and drools all over my cheek. I tell him ‘pray’ and he’d kneel down on his four to pray. I tell him ’sleep, sleep, sleep my baby’ and he’d put his head down on a pillow. I tell him ‘hug, hug, hug’ and he’d put his head down on my shoulders and hugs me tightly. Sweeeet!

Betrayed

Saturday, July 22nd, 2006

On the phone with a friend of mine or at least that’s what I thought before this conversation:

Me: hello, how things?

Her: things are fine, what about you?

Me (kidding): not so great. I’m so upset with you.

Her (shocked): why?

Me: well, I’m so very upset from you because you didn’t tell me about you and Soso. (She cuts me off).

Her (alarmed): who told you?

Me (innocently): Dodo told me.

Her (uncertain what to say): I meant to tell you but …

Me (what’s she talking about): I already know (she cuts me off again and continues on).

Her (with a slip of a tongue she tells me another story): …

Me (I was trying to explain to her but everytime I got interrupted when I spoke): umm …

Me (firmly): hold on. I think you got things mixed up. I just called to congratulate you guys for getting back together. That’s all.

Her (speechless): …

Me (feeling very uneasy. She kept this from me, why? It bothered me but I broke the silence): well anyways I’ve got to go now.

Her: yep. Me too. Bye.

Me: Take care and bye.

End of conversation.

We’ve talked again but she never brought up this again and I didn’t want to talk about it either. I don’t know why it bothered me but it still does especially now that I know about it. It’s just so sneaky!

My Knee Hurts

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

I hit my knee really hard on the corner of a wooden table yesterday when I was at work and tripped over a little but my co-worker held me before I hit the ground. It still hurts and I fell in front of one of the male managers here. I felt so embarrassed that I wanted to scream as the pain tore throughout my leg but good thing no noise came out.

Baby Needs a HairCut

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

I took my baby so many times to different kid’s hair salons but I haven’t found one yet I like, it might be good enough for Hassan but it’s not good enough for me. I’m planning to try another place today after I finish eating lunch. His hair’s starting to look like cotton candy. I just hope he doesn’t give me a hard time there.

Downtown Restaurant

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

My sister and her hubby were checking out Holiday Inn Kuwait Downtown located in Dasman so they decided to give Downtown restaurant a shot. They said that before they took their orders the waiter informed them that at this moment the temperature outside is 47 degrees, so they get a 47 % discount on their food. The more it’s hot outside the more discount you get. It’s a silly idea that works very nicely here in Kuwait!

Update: Rami sent me this and I thought it was all year round.

Bus crash into Barrier

Sunday, July 16th, 2006

On the 5th ring road a bus driver just crashed into a concrete barrier and got tipped over a little on its side. The road’s blocked now. I don’t know how he managed to do that! He must have been speeding when he got hit by another car and swerved around. Looks bad. I don’t think there are any injured passengers or at least I hope not! I didn’t see any ambulance cars only police cars, tow truck, and broken glass scattered on the road.

Hungry for Tumbleweed

Sunday, July 16th, 2006

I went back to Tumbleweed with Rena and Rami. I never thought I would go there again especially after my first unfortunate experience. Now that I did, I don’t think I gave them a fair review. I ordered a light veggie burrito this time but I wasn’t that hungry because I had my lunch at home. Rena and Rami had the same dish, they ordered beef crispy taco. We were served one portion of cheesesticks and some free nachos for starters.

When my food arrived, I saw a huge sandwich and I thought to myself that there was no way I can eat this all on my own. I was so surprised that I ate half of it. It was so good, very deliskious. It tasted more like onion rings and I love onion rings! I’m sure if I hadn’t eaten anything at home I would’ve finished the whole plate, yum yum. I think Rena and Rami enjoyed their meals too. But there was this thing that bothered me the most, I think I mentioned it before in my earlier post about the waiter being there, only this time while we were studying our menus the waiteress would remain standing there next to our table. I found that quite strange …

Other than that I’m so going there again.
