Tumbleweed

On Saturday we went to Tumbleweed a Tex-Mex restaurant. I felt a little uncomfortable even if all the birdheads, deer heads, horsehead mounts and other poor looking animals hanging on the walls were not real. I couldn’t help feeling uneasy. I was also shocked to see that they’ve used antlers as chandeliers. I hope they were only wooden ones too because they looked very nice and fancy.

The waiter who served us was extra friendly that I thought he was so nosy because he wouldn’t let us be. We should’ve invited him over. So anyways everything was fine until my food arrived. I was very disappointed with my food because it was so salty I couldn’t eat even half way through it. Then I lost my appetite. I told my husband not to say anything about it because I wasn’t feeling hungry anymore but he wasn’t going to let it go.

When he told the waiter, he said he was very sorry about it and quickly took my food away. Then he told his manager about it. So the waiter comes back and tells me that I must have something else instead, I thanked him and told him that I wasn’t feeling hungry. Minutes later, the cook comes by our table and apologizes about it. Maybe they thought I was upset or something but I swear that I wasn’t feeling hungry, lol.

Once more the waiter comes back and insists that we have dessert, lol. After all that we eventually said yes though we don’t usually eat sweets. In a few minutes we were served a complementary choco brownie with vanilla ice-cream on top. It was very tasty. When it was time to pay we noticed that they didn’t charge for my meal.

Other than the food and the uncomfortable feeling I had when I first saw the deerheads on the wall, I really thought the place was pretty cool and I’m so glad they had a non-smoking area. I don’t think their business is doing very well but their service is so great, esp. the management.

I love it when they replace plates or take it off the bill! hehehe… my young sister sometime does that and nothing would stop her! I would usually sit sakta o not complaining, either finish it or leave the thing, knowing that i won’t go to the place again.

I went last Friday to Tang Choa - Chinese rest. fe Holiday Inn… Food’s good, Decor bey3a2ed, service was half half, kinda slow yet friendly. Go try it!

i was telling nat last week that i wanted to try tumbleweed. it looked cool from the outside and i like the name. then i found out it was owned by the same people as sultan center and that kinda put me off.

Chika, I love that too ;)

Mark, I still think you should give it a try. I’m sure Rami had better luck with his order and I really thought that their prices were very reasonable.

[...] I went back to Tumbleweed with Rena and Rami. I never thought I would go there again especially after my first unfortunate experience. Now that I did, I don’t think I gave them a fair review. I ordered a light veggie burrito this time but I wasn’t that hungry because I had my lunch at home. Rena and Rami had the same dish, they ordered beef crispy taco. We were served one portion of cheesesticks and some free nachos for starters. [...]
