Wave Bye-Bye

I’m having the best cappuccino I’ve ever had in my whole life and credit goes to the Bengali guy. I feel like a baby post now, so here I go. My baby’s attempting to wave goodbye and how cute it is but it looks more like he’s shooing something away. I keep showing him how to properly wave goodbye and he ignores me. I’ll never stop trying …

Hassan’s also so very interested in any sort of remotes that he’d snatch one from my hands very quickly, points it to the tv set and turns it on. He’s very very fascinated with phones too esp. when I’m on the phone he’d grab the earpiece from my hands and puts it to his ear.

He deliberately throws his toys on the floor for me to pick up, lol. Maybe that’s his way of expressing that he wants to play with me. Naughty, though I find it quite cool to have someone who actually enjoys my company all the time, lol.

But I have never pictured that I’ll have such a rebellious baby. I can’t even dress him up anymore, change his diapers or wash him up without having a small scene of screaming at the top of his lungs, slapping at our faces, and biting me on my shoulders. I’ve been trying my best to put him down in his car seat but he hates it, he doesn’t like to be restrained at all. What did I do wrong?

He’s just trying to see whether he can get his own way or not. With time, he’ll calm down with some things, but get worse with others. Like the dressing he’ll calm down with time, but when it comes to things like car seats, there may be a chance he’ll never want to sit in one again. It really depends on the child’s personality. Mashalla, Noony has such a strong personality that we can’t get her to do anything unless we convince her with long talks(and sometimes threaten her)to do it. If we shouted at her or smacked her little behind, things would get worse, so we had to talk to her using our calm voice even though we were about to explode. With the other kids, if we forced them, then they just faced the fact that they couldn’t get their way and quiet down after a bit. Same parents, different children, different parenting techniques with each child. You just have to figure out with trial and error which technique goes best with Hassan. Don’t worry, things will get better. I doubt Hassan is as rebellious as Noony. But now Noony is ALMOST the little angel. We’re getting there- slowly, but we’re getting there. ;)

With time you just gotta work on him! My nephew screams and stops to check if anyone is paying attention.. His mom cant stop picking him up, but I tell her to leave him be. And with me now he doesnt cry as much, and he doesnt shout as much. When me or my brother (the daddy) put him in his car seat he is happy about it, but if anybody else does it.. he does his half cry thing.. where he screams a little and sees how far he is going with it! hehehe! He is testing you out! My nephew is the same when it comes to remotes or phones.. but he likes to put them in his mouth.. he tried to put my foot in his mouth the other day.. but I stopped him! He made me laugh! hehehe! Trial and error and you will figure out what works! hehehe!

Rena, I can’t figure out a way yet. He doesn’t even want to sit down to eat, I have to chase after him just to feed him.

Marzouq, I can’t do anything because my baby always wants my attention.

Btw, Hassan used to suck onto his toes, lol. I’m glad he stopped! But he still puts everything else in his mouth …
