My Anniversary Gift

Sunday, May 21st, 2006

I’m still not over the surprise gift Rami bought for me yesterday. I’m the proud owner of a Lexus RX 350. And for now I need a potential buyer for my old car.

I got into a car accident

Saturday, May 20th, 2006

On my way back home on Fahaheel expressway, as usual I turned on my signal to turn right though today I had to go to the gas station, slowed down my car when all of a sudden the car in front of me stops and I had a feeling it would. So as always I kept my distance but unfortunately the car behind me was so close and with a bang, it hit my car hard! I drove a little and parked near the gas station to avoid the unnecessary traffic that might build up if I stopped in the middle of the road. I had to get down to check how bad it was. I saw a couple of dents and some scratches, but nothing serious. And the guy was so polite and I felt how sorry he was so I let matters be. I decided I should let him go because there was absolutely no way I can reverse things. I also looked at my watch and I had my son waiting for me at home as well as my family. There was no good reason to keep everyone waiting. I’m such a lousy driver!

Our 2nd Anniversary

When I got in the bus there was this very strong smell I thought the bus driver must have burped and what the hell did he eat this morning for breakfast: fried onions, garlic and eggplants! Or the worst scenario he farted and forgot to open the windows. I really wanted to escape ..

On a more brighter note I got Rami the wrong lens so he took it back today and instead he got himself the flash SB 800 for his Nikon camera. This year I didn’t face much of a problem in choosing him a gift.

LoFat Food

Thursday, May 18th, 2006

I felt like LoFat food yesterday so I went ahead and placed my first order. I waited only 30 minutes or so until my food arrived. Like everyone had said I got my food fresh and warm. The only thing was that there was a mix up with my order so instead of getting the Chicken Grilled sandwich I got the Rocca salad with grilled chicken and as a result the restaurant decided to give it away as a complementary appetizer. Nice move! I had french fries as well as brownies, yummie!

In spite of the mix up with my food order I must say everything I had was super tasty even though I couldn’t chew very well and that’s due to my swollen gums! Oh and another thing I’d like to point out is I expected to get a bigger brownie for the price I had paid for. But nevertheless I think LoFat is way cheaper and much tastier comparing to Diet Center. And having the food delivered to home is a thumbs up too, though I was really hoping to find a nutritional fact sheet.

This yummie brownie costs 500 fils, I’d suggest 150 fils!

I can’t go out!

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

I woke up today to take my medications and to my horror I found my right jaw so swollen as though I’ve had a jawbreaker. The doctor warned me that it would swell up but I didn’t expect it to swell that much. I was planning to spend my day off doing something else. Now I’m stuck at home with this lump!

I’m eating Food!

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

I can’t chew yet on my right side but I ate dinner. I had mashed potatoes, mushroom soup and jello for dessert. The bleeding has stopped but I think the painkillers are wearing off so I’ll be taking some more really soon.

3 more to go

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

I had lunch with my husband before my appointment with the dentist (which is a wise move) to have presumably two of my wisdom teeth pulled out, though I ended up having only one removed because I changed my mind the last minute. I won’t be eating anything but jello until tomorrow. I can’t speak very well now. So far no pain just lots of bleeding!

I was so scared and as soon as I got in the room I was trembling badly. After the doctor had injected a local analgesic with a very fine and long needle into my lower right gums, scary, then all of a sudden he leaves me alone with the nurse just for a while so that the analgesic can take effect. My heart started pounding faster and faster. It’s just like waiting for my death penalty! I was shooting so many questions to the nurse and it’s good she was still so patient with me until my doctor came back 10 minutes later.

I was relieved to see him come back. At that time I wanted to leave but I didn’t want to act like a baby in front of everyone and I wanted to get this over with. When the doctor started with the procedure, at first everything went on very smoothly until the constant pulling and pulling from every possible angle. I shut my eyes tightly and tried to think of my baby only but still nothing seemed to work. I started sweating so much. I thought I can’t go through this twice even if it’s painless. It’s just so annoying having someone pull on something and it won’t come out. But I had to relax a bit because the doctor felt how tense I was becoming, which didn’t help at all.

It took 30 minutes to get one removed and when the doctor was about to start with the stitches I felt a bit of pain maybe because the analgesic was wearing off or something so he had to inject another needle. I was prescribed with loads of medication: two different antibiotics, one anti-inflammatory, and some painkillers. I have to change the gauze dressing every two hours. I shouldn’t rinse my mouth with salt and water until tomorrow. I need to use an ice-pack every half an hour at least just for today. Mom and my husband are being very supportive too because I need to rest for now. Lots and lots of intructions!

The instruments in the picture below reminds me so much of Freddy Krueger.

Here’s another snap shot of the clinic I went to.

P.s. I’d like to add that my doctor is really really good.
