The Bus Driver

Sunday, April 16th, 2006

Today my co-worker had to leave early because she had a Doctor’s appointment, so usually I give her a lift back home, but today I was all on my own. When it was time to leave as usual I took the bus. I got in the bus and there was this friendly bus driver and the security guard in the passenger’s seat. Sometimes when I’m all alone I get such crazy and silly ideas. Today I just couldn’t push such thoughts away and my mind was going like this: ‘What if I was taken as a hostage? What would I do if the bus driver takes my wedding ring, expensive watch and necklace? I must beg him to let me go because I have a baby who still needs me. I feel sorry for him, maybe if he was paid a decent salary he wouldn’t have taken me as a hostage!’

Reality Shows

Two days ago we started watching American Inventor and I loved it. I just love reality tv shows. I really think Doug Hall or ‘Mr.know.it.all’ is the funniest among the four judges. I’m trying to convince Rami to get on one of those shows, lol.

There was this one invention which I thought was really so cool, it’s a car seat that’s more like a womb and it protects the baby by turning in the opposite direction of any force that hits the car. There’s another cool reality show I like: The Race to the Altar though it’s not as good.

This was by far my worst experience ever using a laser printer! I don’t know who ordered them for us. I only know that Sony took over part of this company in March 31, 2006. I’m trying to convince the IT department to take them back because the speed is too slooow but as it seems we’re truly stuck with them.

My holiday

Friday, April 14th, 2006

I really wanted to relax a bit but I don’t think I will because today I noticed that my baby had a very runny nose, sneezing, and a mild cough since yesterday. So I’m very concerned now. It might be an allergy though, but I’m not so sure yet.

PC Quest Games

I remember while I was in my teens, well actually I never thought I’d be saying this but I loved to play computer quest or adventure games, such as Monkey Island, Police Quest, King’s QuestEco-Quest, and Leisure Suit Larry. And sometimes when I got really stuck, I had to go online to print out the hints and walkthroughs. It was so much fun! I can’t seem to get over such games, and I’d like to add that I’m still a big fan of Lemmings.

Fishy Fish!

Tuesday, April 11th, 2006

Yesterday I had fried salmon with garlic-buttered veggies for dinner. I think I’ll have the same thing tonight. It was so yummie. I love salmon but the thing that worries me so much is that it absorbs large amounts of lead and mercury. That’s why I haven’t introduced fish yet to my baby’s diet.

Other sorts of fish I love to eat are: silvery pomfret (zubaidi), brown spotted grouper (hamour), cod, hilsa shad or ‘hilsha’ (suboor), prawns and haddock. Fish I don’t like at all: mullet, crab, lobsters, and silvery croacker (nuwaibi).

Update: For more information on why you shouldn’t be feeding fish to your baby, and why you should avoid eating fish when you’re pregnant/breastfeeding: BabiesOnline, US FDA, US EPA.
