I went to Patchi today after I dropped my son home so I can buy some chocolates for our Assistant Manager because she just got promoted to Office Manager. It’s great really because it’s still very rare nowadays that we can find a female manager in Kuwait. So I wish her further progress in her career and all the best.

My Baby’s feeling unwell

Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

It’s been two days in a row now that I’ve been taking my poor baby to the clinic because I’ve noticed my baby wasn’t himself at all. That’s when I realized he had a cough. So I was quite worried though my sister-in-law and my dad reassured me that there’s nothing to worry to about.

Makes my tummy turn

I can’t seem to eat chicken anymore without remembering Nat’s post Horrible and Gruesome! about the nasty ways animals are slaughtered to death in China, especially dogs for their fur and meat. Yuck!! I don’t think I can even ever eat any Chinese food again. And now I keep questioning everything I eat. I want to go on vegan diet really soon.

Game Shows

I really loved watching the two tv game shows: Jeopardy and The Wheel of Fortune on MBC 4 but after the tsunami they sort of stopped showing it for few months or more, at least that’s what I thought all this time, just until two days ago. When at 10 am I turned on MBC 4 and I was so surprised to see that they’re still showing my two favourite game shows but now on different times. I was just so happy. Though I have one more favourite game show that I haven’t seen in a long time on the Showtime and I don’t know why it’s not showing anymore: The Price is Right. I’m so addicted to them. One sweet day, I’d really love to attend one of those game shows.

I wish

Today in my jeep I turned on the radio FM and tuned in to Marina. They had a question about what you’d wish for if you had Alladin’s magical lamp and you’ve got only one wish.

So I’ve decided I wanted to answer mine here. I’d wish that I’d be able to give my husband, son, mom, two grannies, dad, two sisters and two brothers all the happiness they can wish for in this world. In other words, I’ll ask for more wishes to give away to them.

MoonLight Photo

Friday, March 17th, 2006

I took my baby to Moonlight Photo for his second photo shoot yesterday because I wasn’t so satisfied with the first one. I must say I liked them way better than Chiquita Photo, even though there were some things I didn’t like. Let me start with their studio, it isn’t as organized as Chiquita’s and there was hardly any space to move upstairs. The lady on the counter wasn’t as friendly as should be and as it seems she wasn’t interested the least bit with her job because as soon as we entered the shop we found no one on the desk to greet us, so we had to wait a while until she realized that someone came in. She kept greeting other customers in the same way, speaking with a few words then walking back inside to talk on the phone, leaving the rest of the customers unattended. I’d agree she must be the owner and she had an attitude problem.

Other than that when it was our turn, the photographer was quite friendly and very professional comparing to Chiquita Photo. They used a Nikon cam and it shows that it’s way better than Chiquita’s, though I didn’t check the model number to prove that. We took over half an hour which is far too long in comparison with Chiquita Photo; which took us less than 15 minutes and that’s because the photographer there had an assistant. But my baby wasn’t cooperating at all yesterday so I can’t blame them. At least Moonlight’s photographer made sure she captured my baby’s very best smiles without rushing us in any way.

I liked the results very much and the photographer promised me to work on editing the photos to make them look 100 % better, whereas Chiquita Photo just gave me back ordinary photos showing not a single special effect added to them at all and I paid them much more. Also, I didn’t mind at all that I would be given a cd with the photos I chose only because I thought the prices were quite reasonable since I borrowed my sister’s student discount card (Betaqati.com) and therefore, I got 20 % off and I only paid 9.600 Kd for four photo shots, size 13×18 cm. I have to say I’m so happy and I’ll definitely go there again.

New Moves

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

Things my baby learned to do the last few months, from 4-7 months:

  • Rejects bottle when full or not hungry by turning his head away.
  • Burps on his own.
  • No more spit-ups.
  • Cries & objects when I take away a toy from him.
  • Pulls objects above his head.
  • Lifts head at 90 degrees when playing on his tummy.
  • Opens his mouth to a spoon.
  • Learned how to babble sounds like ‘baba’ and ‘mama.’
  • Rubs his eyes when sleepy.
  • Rolls over both ways and now in circles like a seal.
  • Got his two bottom front teeth.
  • Noticed his feet for the first time.
  • Learned only the basics of ’crawling’ but didn’t master the art of crawling yet.
  • Sits up without support.
  • And lately pulls my hair whenever he’s sleepy.
  • Update: Just started chewing food.
