Hi,

This is off-topic but I'm working on a research project about the Kuwait blogs and was wondering if you wouldn't mind taking my survey? Full details are below:

--

My name is Noor Ali-Hasan and I am a graduate student at the University of Michigan School of Information. As part of my master's thesis project, I am currently conducting a study about bloggers and their social networks. Based on your blog, you have been selected to participate in a short online survey about blogging. To qualify for the survey, you must meet the following qualifications:

* Be at least 18 years of age
* Currently keep a blog
* Have a blog that contains a blogroll and/or allows comments
* Have a blog that is part of the Kuwait Blogs community

Your participation is completely voluntary. The survey should take about ten to thirty minutes to complete. You may access the survey at this address:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?A=120826072E1053

All survey data will be kept confidential. The study's findings will be reported in aggregates and will not be used to identify a specific person. If you have any questions about this survey, please email me at nooraz@umich.edu.

Your time and participation is greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Nat, I believe the Jewish slaughter their animals in the same way too. There's a reason for that. It's not a traditional thing but there's a religious reason behind that. It's quick, drains most of the blood out and the least painful method known without using any sort of anesthetic or medication; which can be considered unsafe for human consumption.

Out of respect, butchers must say 'Bismillah' or 'in the Name of Allah' before they slaughter the animals. I also know butchers should never sharpen their knives in front of the animal they're about to slaughter because it's considered unhumane, and we can't eat the meat of any animal that was subjected to any sort of cruelties.

The Islamic way which is "halal" is also considered as animal abuse by Peta since the chicken aren't usually stunned before they have their throats slit. I still eat chicken though occasionaly while trying not to think about how its done. But anyway noone can compete with China's and North Korea's horrible practices.
