What’s up with NBK?

At first when I opened an account with NBK, I was a student back then and I really enjoyed their services, comparing to other banks here in Kuwait.
Thinking about it now, I regret it so much, and it was the biggest mistake of my life when I gave them my phone numbers so that they’d contact me for sth important. You see, for the last two years I kept on getting phone calls from 801801 promoting NBK services only. I didn’t mind much because they used to call from time to time.
But lately, I’ve noticed they call me every week on my cell phone, house phone, and God knows where else. Good thing I’m on a maternal leave otherwise they’d somehow find my phone numbers at work and call me …!
It’s unbelievable! I’m sure it’s not only me that’s unhappy about this! So anyways, it didn’t only stop to phone calls, but the other day someone called me from NBK and again advertising the privileges of owning a visa/master card. I made it clear that I wasn’t interested!
The next day I received a letter from NBK, providing me with a visa card??!! And when I called them, they told me that this is a service we do for our special clients! I thought I had to request it first! That’s when I lost it!! I thought I made it clear that I’m not interested in a visa/master card for the million times! So I had to cancel something I didn’t even request!

I understand your frustration but unfortunately a lot of banks are like that here in Kuwait.

I’d thought about switching to another bank, but now I guess I should file a complaint or simply remove my phone numbers!

Of your two options, I suggest you talk to their Customer Service people. Tell them that you are considering switching banks if they don’t stop calling you for telemarketing purposes. That should stop their behavior. It’s worked for me in the past.
Removing your phone numbers might hurt you later on, la sama7 Allah something happens with your account & they need to reach you for example..

Wouldn’t it be nice if watani online had a feature where you could choose the services you wish to receive…then the people on the phone can only ever call those that choose the service…
That way they don’t waste time targetting the wrong customers.
